My solo guitar version of another classic jazz standard, performed on a Cort Yorktown archtop.

It Had to Be You" was composed by Isham Jones with lyrics by Gus Kahn and was published in 1924.

The popular song was covered by many artists including Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr. with appearances in numerous films, for example " When Harry Met Sally " (1989).

Thank you for watching!

" Very nice arrangement! "

A kind comment received from Bill Piburn - respected performer, arranger, teacher, editor of Guitar Player Magazine for 10 years and editor of Fingerstyle Guitar Journal : an informative quarterly digital publication for all guitarists : https://fingerstylejournal.com/

Summer Rain (Nashville Tuning) - solo fingerstyle guitar

Legendary guitarist Lenny Breau introduced some wonderful open string chord voicings which appeared in an informative lesson for Guitar Player magazine during the 1980s.

The two opening chords from that lesson provided the inspiration for "Summer Rain", composed with the first section of the melody in the lower register using standard guitar tuning (an octave higher using the identical left hand fingering with Nashville tuning).

Thanks and appreciation to Barry Buret who kindly offered his Nashville tuned Tacoma guitar for this recording!

They Can't Take That Away From Me - solo fingerstyle guitar

My solo guitar version of another classic jazz standard, performed on a Cort Yorktown archtop.

"They Can't Take That Away from Me" was composed by George and Ira Gershwin in 1937 for the musical "Shall We Dance" and has become one of the most famous Gershwin brothers standards.

Alfie - solo fingerstyle guitar

My solo fingerstyle guitar arrangement of another great classic.

Composed by Burt Bacharach for the 1966 film 'Alfie', the song was a major hit for Cilla Black (UK) and Dionne Warwick (US). Burt Bacharach described it as his favourite of all the songs he had written.
